Here at Style Sample Mag, we’ve brought you some of the best products out there when it comes to men’s shoes, clothing, and accessories. So we’re hyped to bring you a new watch brand called Homage.
Homage is a commemorative watch brand inspired by the heroes who fought during World War II on behalf of the Allies. The design of the watch is inspired by a ww2 era design called the A11, which was the watch given to members of the US army and air force. Homage field watches are versatile, because they can be worn comfortably at the gym or the office. Today we’re going over two models- the Homage A11 WW2 Army Dial 1941 as well as the A11 WW2 Airforce Dial 1941.
A11 Watch Army Dial
The first watch model we’re going to cover from Homage is the A11 WW2 Army Dial 1941. It comes with some amazing features that make it better than the competition.
Made in the USA, it has a quartz movement and a luminous dial. On the south side of the dial, there is a motto etched on the side: “This We’ll Defend.”
There is an an incredible luminous second hand, as well as the hands and markers, which makes it easy to see the time in the dark.
The front of the watch is made with anti-scratch sapphire glass, surrounded by a brushed and polished silver toned stainless steel case.
It comes with two straps, making it easy to switch out for any occasion. One piece is made of nylon, and there is also a two-piece army canvas strap.
When you buy these watches, it comes with a 5 year warranty. So you can rest easy knowing that when you buy a watch from Homage, you’re buying a quality product.
A11 Watch Airforce Dial
With similar stats to the army model, the A11 WW2 Airforce Dial 1941 is a recreation of the watches worn by members of the US Air Force during World War II. Just like the army watch, this model also has “This We’ll Defend” etched on the side. It also comes with the following features:
- USA quartz movement
- Luminous dial
- Sapphire glass
- Stainless steel case
- Made in USA with US MVMT and imported parts.
- 5 year warranty
- Comes with 2 straps. One piece nylon and two piece canvas
How Does Homage Measure Up to Other Brands?
Tens of thousands of government-issue A11 watches were produced for members of the Allied armies. It’s considered to be a special watch that could handle the brutal conditions of going to war. But today, it’s so rare to find an original vintage watch, that they go for upwards of $2,600 on eBay.
You truly can’t beat the features that are seen in the Homage watches. We just need to emphasize the features of the quartz movement made in the USA, the luminous dial, the anti-scratch sapphire class, and the stainless steel case. It has the 5 year warranty, which is much longer than your average watch warranty. And it comes with not just one, but two straps. You really can’t go wrong with choosing the Homage.
There are several watch brands out there who have tried to recreate the style of the A11, but none of been as successful as Homage. The MSRP for the Homage A11 WW2 Army Dial is $295, and it’s currently on sale for $195.
Compare this watch to the “Chandler” model by Citizen. This has a very similar style, including the silver toned stainless steel, luminous hands and woven green strap. Its MSRP is $250.00. However, it doesn’t look nearly as close to the original A11 as Homage does.
There is also a model called the “Pilot’s Watch Automatic Spitfire” by IWC Schaffhausen which retails for an unbelievable $4,650. Some people really go above and beyond to purchase a luxury watch that emulates that A11 style!
If you go with the Homage, you’ll be saving money for a very similar product that is actually more historically accurate than many of the brands that were inspired by World War II.
